  Do you have JW-related dreams (nightmares)?

  i guess it's never going away: daytime carryovers of jw-related stuff seeping into my dreams.. the majority of these dreams take place at conventions but with really weird trappings.

  last night i dreamed i arrived at the site with no books, no lunch, nothing but my car keys.

  I can see, through your comment, that having been a born-in (am I correct?), your influences would have been vastly different. Funny how on my mom's bed -- our at-home library -- were scattered Bibles, movie rags, Astrology Today, The Good Earth, The Egg and I, The Watchtower, Awake!, etc.

  Thank you, Carla, for a wonderful account!

  My dearly departed mom introduced me to literature and the library. Her surviving brother, my uncle, continues to send me books, having taken her place. At Friends of the Library I bought one of Mom's favorites, that originally cost $5.00, way back in 1954. I got it for one dollar.

  That book has taken me back home.

  I remember how sad I was, as a little child, when our beloved Carnegie Library was razed (unsafe, structurally). The same tragedy occurred when we moved to a new town and that similar architectural treasure was demolished to put up a new and gleaming building of steel and glass. Gone was the rolling green lawn where we read under the shade of a huge and ancient oak.

  All the sadness aside, our continued use of literary and musical gems (we had a separate section where we could listen to classical LPs) relocated inside the replacement buildings was what truly mattered.

  While we may find the vastness of knowledge available to us at home through the Internet very useful, still, there was nothing like our first discovery of new and alien worlds within the leaves of thousands upon thousands of books residing in the library's sacred walls.

  Dr. Jesus! Cool.

  Speaking of Jesus, some people call me Jesus. When I was still going to meetings, I was allowed to comment, that despite my long red hair and beard. But I was called by my first name, not Br. XXXXXXX.

  Anyway, my recurring dream (which I didn't think to mention earlier) occurred again last night. Looking like Jesus in a business suit and tie, I had parts in both the TMS and Service Meeting. All my scattered bits of paper notes were jammed into my beloved AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING. My time onstage was rapidly approaching and I was frantically trying to figure out what to say . . .

  No one seemed nonplussed by my appearance.

  The Sadness of the Poet

  i feel a sadness so deep that friends wonder why my art and my blinds remain undrawn.. gone is the muse who promised me solacewhile guys played ball and climbed tall trees.. a blank canvas before me says, "here's your life, where has it gone?".

  cha ching and others who no longer dream of the JW-oriented life -- what a relief!

  In the OP, I wasn't even thinking of my recurring Bethel dreams. Yes, I returned to Bethel and there was no way out this time.
